Yes, and Freddy the Freeloader, and Gertrude and Heathcliff, and also a clown, but I can't remember the name. Loved his show, comedy the whole family could watch.

My parents loved RS, I honestly thought he was weird. I was also barely beyond being a toddler and haven't seen him since, it might have been me. I also couldn't stand Jackie Gleason, I was a very early feminist, lol. I didn't even like Darren, either one, for the same reason. I mean, what if Samantha had declared her husband couldn't use his advertising talents, and instead had to say, dig ditches to make a living? In my eyes, same thing as telling his wife she couldn't use witchcraft to make their lives easier.

Blackbird :
Jackie Gleason was just obnoxious. Just because you can be loud and rude does not make you funny.

I was also a fan of Flip Wilson and Laugh In. I was watching Laugh In the other day, and there is no way censors would let through some of those jokes through.

Arty Johnson with his, "Goodnight, Lucy." with a cigarette in his hand, and Dan Rowan would have been the first to go. Part of my name is Lucy, and that phrase, "Goodnight, Lucy," followed me for years!
