Anyone love the Big Bend area? Please call or write your representatives to try to prevent the expansion of the border wall along the Rio Grande in the Big Bend Ranch & National park area. This is a sensitive natural area. A wall & contruction trucks & equipment will destroy what haa been called "the prettiest drive in Texas" along Hwy 170 & impact big horn sheep recovery as well as bear & other wildlife.

The wall may be appropriate in some areas, not in Big Bend. Natural barriers have made it a very low crossing area & it is not worth the money and damage done to an area known for solitude and beauty. We can't allow fear to destroy the very things that make our state special.

This is the article showing how the wall will be deployed in the national park. It was to be technology monitoring until they expanded it on Feb 13th. The Sierra del Carmen are a big enough wall. The number of people crossing there is tiny, & a wall will make no difference.
