They are hidden all over. We find them at the parks, Nature Center, library and train depot/gazebo. Some are hidden outside of businesses and I have seen posts that showed one hidden at the HEB gas pumps. There is a Facebook page, Pearland Rock Hunt, that has members that paint and hide rocks and when someone finds them, they post that it was found. Then you re-hide it for someone else to find. Some people are really talented and the rocks are so cute that you want to keep them and that is ok, just paint one and hide it somewhere to replace the one you kept. The kids get so excited when they find one but reading the posts from people, it is not just kids that enjoy it. It really brightens someone's day, young and old!

when it began it was just at the parks, but now it's gone wild, lol!

I don't think I have ever seen a rock that was signed. Some people post the rocks on Facebook after they have painted them and let everyone know that they will be hiding them so if you find one, you would know who painted it (if you saw the original post). Sometimes when someone posts that they found one, the artist will respond that it is one that they painted. Some people are really good artist but it is just as much fun to find one that was painted by a child, especially if they see your post and are excited that their rock was found.
