Last Thursday, on 35 north of 518 to SSH TW, many crews were working on guardrails, sidewalks, etc.. Just inside Harris County, a cement truck backed from part of the outside lane, so there was a dude there with a flag right in front of the truck. My sister nearly ran into him because the barrels around into the center lane just started about 80 yards ahead of the flagger!
Texas Legislature needs to make better rules on road construction detours. Even if a specific action for less than 8 working days is part of a longer-range project of 8 to 880 working days (1 week, 2 days to 2 years, 8 1/2 months), which should be the limit in a phase on a road or part of a road not exceeding 7.5 miles or 1/4 of distance to 1/18 of postable very long distance of road(s) under construction; traffic should be detoured to other comparable roads: in this case, SB 288 to 2234 and 521, NB 288 to 6 and 521, EB Broadway to BUSINESS CENTER, SOUTHFORK,
MAGNOLIA AND SILVERLAKE,
WB 518x (PEARWEST) to CULLEN
AND SOUTH BELTWAY [sic: OSR
CLEAR VALLEY NORTH BLVD].

THROUGH TRAFFIC to follow local traffic detours closest to the obscene of the road crews!
