Brazoria County 288 Expressway Grand Opening“Brazoria County is excited to announce the opening of the long-awaited Brazoria County 288 Expressway. The Expressway extends 5.2 miles from County Road 58 north to the Brazoria/ Harris County line at Clear Creek. The opening on Monday, November 16, 2020, will be in conjunction with the TxDOT (Harris County) section of the 288 Expressway that spans 10.3 miles from Clear Creek, to just south of Beltway 8, to U.S. 59/69 Split.Beginning November 16 – November 29, 2020 the Expressway will be free to travel from Brazoria County through Harris County. This two-week period allows travelers to experience the easy access and convenience of the Expressway at no cost. Tolling will begin for both sections Brazoria and Harris on November 30.
