Calling all Democrats! And other parties. It looks like there are plenty around that are motivated to vote this time, judging by the last election.

Start talking to your like minded friends everywhere to make sure they are working on getting registered to vote. It looks like they are putting up more roadblocks to keep people from being able to vote. The harder they try the harder we should work to overcome the obstacles. We are all patriotic "Americans". Lets prove it by exercising our greatest right, by getting all eligible voters out to the polls. ( OK, we are USAians, but it doesn't have the same ring to it)

We need to have politicians that are accountable to their electorate. All I get now are boilerplate replies that don't address my concerns. If they aren't worried they can be thrown out of office, they don't listen to the voters. They only care about keeping big money donors happy. We need leaders that will work to get the insane amounts of money out of politics, if that is even possible anymore, but it starts with us. Run For Something PAC can help you or your friends sign up to run for office, too!

Is America really great if we destroy everything that makes it great? On the table is destroying the peace & wildness of Big Bend state & national park with a 30 ft wall &:associated roads & lights. That will ruin the dark sky designation, disrupt Big Horn sheep, bears & other wildlife & cost unnecessary millions , all for a corridor that has very low crossing rates & doesn't need that type of border enforcement.
Also opening up the pristine wilderness area near Boundary Waters Canoe area to a dirty type of mine run by a company from Chile that will most likely leave a mess we will have to pay to clean up. Expanding logging in old growth forests like the one they are fighting for in Colorado & other National forests & BLM lands. All of this is being done by ignoring legal protections that have been put in place after decades that dedicated people have fought to have them enacted. Will America be great when the only public places left to recreate are land fills created by mountains built of garbage?

I might have been more inclined to vote for John Cornyn if he had responded to my letter that he would be working with DHS keep the permanent damage caused by a physical wall from happening. Our public national & state lands have been given by past generations to preserve for future generations as a sacred trust. One we shouldn't take lightly. The region could better be patrolled with sensors & patrols that would not distrupt the area as much with a wall and associated roads & buffer zones. The terrain there is very inhospitable & represents a very small fraction of crossings in any case. The results are not worth the outlay or destruction.

They call it a "smart wall" to deflect opposition to what what they are really doing. It can be sensors, floating bollards or a wall. All indications are they are planning an actual wall through most of the area, disrupting local business as well. There is strong local opposition, but they are not considered to be enough people to have a voice. James Talarico has hiked the area and has gone on record as being someone willing to work to lessen the impact while still working to secure the border, thus my call out to Democratic voters to get out to vote this year. Republicans are too scared or complicit to speak up for the people of Texas. 🏞
