The program is a continuous planning document that provides an outline for capital projects over the coming five years. The 2021-2025 CIP outlines the planning phases and estimates expenditure for current and future projects needed to support the Pearland community.
Projects featured in the CIP are City facility, drainage, road, water, and wastewater investments that the community will need to prosper. Some projects outlined in the CIP include the Shadow Creek Library, Fire Station 8, drainage improvements in the West Lea subdivision, the Surface Water Treatment Plant, and the Barry Rose Water Reclamation Facility.
Many of the projects in the CIP are currently underway but will require additional funding and resources as projects progress from preliminary design through construction. Other projects in the CIP have not yet received funding and are in early stages of pre-development. The five-year CIP is a planning document that keeps infrastructure development in Pearland focused and helps City Council prioritize funding in future years.
