Locally heavy rains could develop as early as Sunday & continuing into the 1st half of the week. A Gulf of Mexico tropical depression could form & work up the coast & bring significant rains and an increasing risk of possible flooding.

To set expectations for next week's heavy rains, we plan on implementing a Stage 2 flood alert on our flood scale, and anticipate this warning will be in effect from Sunday evening through Wednesday. It is quite early to be calling for this, as heavy rain is unlikely to arrive before Sunday night at the earliest. However, since most people probably will check out over the weekend-much of which will be sunny and pleasant-we wanted to give our readers a heads up now.

I can't say I am happy about any flooding, I just guess we better get the back yard mowed, for the second time this week, tomorrow. Of course all 3 dogs are sure they will melt in the rain, unless we let them off leash, then Chloe heads for the retention pond. My husband has already asked me to make beef stew, so I will plan on doing that.
