Brazoria County will be able to see a doctor after their Friday night football games or Saturday soccer games courtesy of the Sports Medicine Outreach Program at Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital. On every Saturday, from now until November 11, the Orthopedic Saturday sports injury clinic will take place on the campus of Memorial Hermann Pearland.
“The Saturday morning clinic in Pearland offers expert interdisciplinary access to treatment in collaboration with UT Physicians to meet the needs of young athletes in the community,†said Dr. Andrew Li-Yung Hing, Sports Medicine Primary Care Physician at Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital and Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. “We are unique in that we are staffed with board certified physicians in orthopedic surgery and primary care sports medicine for timely diagnosis and treatment as well as neuropsychology for the evaluation and management of concussions.†Li-Yung Hing is also an assistant professor of Primary Care Sports Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.
The Saturday Sports Injury Clinic will run from Sept. 30 through Nov. 11 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Patients can simply walk-in to the clinics or schedule an appointment.
The clinic will offer full diagnostic and treatment services including X-rays, MRIs, splints, supports, casting and crutches.
