And....it only takes ONE bite from a mosquito to move heartworms into a dog's bloodstream. HW preventatives are a necessity!
Yall be careful with DEET on your own bodies (never use on animals, of course) I learned I am "allergic" to it- that crap puts me in a bad mood.
And, finally, yes there are a lot more tiny mosquitos lately than what we used to get around here. I noticed them after Harvey.

If sitting outside have a fan blowing, that keeps them away. When cooler weather hits I light the fire pit so no issues while sitting outside. Now walking the dog is another story. Our subdivision has been sprayed twice already since are rains started. The spray must be working

Mosquito Spray Update for Tuesday, Sept. 13th. Mosquito Control will be spraying the following areas: Pearland, Silverlake, Country Place, Southdown, and Brookside Village.

I am forever getting stung by things I do not see until I get a welt and itch for hours. They remind me of European midgies- so tiny you don't see them until they swarm around you in mass. I expected Texas mosquitoes to be big like Alaskan . ( haha). The smaller they are the longer they itch! I will try the fabric softener sheets ( they also work for mice). You would think the anole's would eat them all.
