I need your recommendations! What's the best book you've read in the last year and why? I'm open to any genre: fiction, mystery, history, self-improvement, memoirs, fantasy, or something completely unexpected. Help me add a few titles to my reading list!

@samuelsons:
One of my top recommendations is "Yogi: A Life Behind the Mask" by Jon Pessah. I'm not typically a big sports fan, but this book was excellent and I couldn't put it down. While there were a few sections that got a bit technical regarding batting averages and stats, the story itself is incredibly compelling. It was honestly heartbreaking to read about how Yogi Berra was treated by the media, fans, coaches, and even his own teammates; some of the newspaper coverage from back then would never be tolerated today. Despite the challenges, his deep love for the game kept him going, and it's a truly fascinating look at an amazing career.
