News from Pearland Council regarding a new animal shelter location in Pearland

Remember that $13 million animal shelter voters approved last year? The Pearland Council heard your concerns and pushed through an agreement to build it for millions less than the original proposal.

This is a much better value on a shelter that Pearland will be proud of and that will be able to serve more residents at a new, more central Cullen location. Many thanks to city staff especially at Pearland Police and Pearland Pets Animal Services for the heavy lifting on this project.

Where on Cullen is this new shelter going to be? When does construction start and estimated completion date?

well deserved. however i do not agree with the "more central Cullen location". I believe more central location would be closer to 1128...

I believe Cullen makes it more accessible to West Pearland people.
There is available land south of 518, but I don't know if that's where it'll be.
About time the old location was replaced, always full and in need of more space.
