News Release from the Pearland Police DepartmentPearland, Texas – On November 15, 2022, at approximately 1:05PM, Pearland Police Department officers were involved in an officer involved shooting while attempting to take a suspect with multiple felony warrants into custody in the 4900 block of Griggs Road, in Houston, Texas. While attempting to apprehend the suspect, he led officers on a short foot pursuit, at which time he produced a handgun. A Pearland Police Officer discharged his weapon and struck the suspect. PPD Officers immediately provided emergency medical aide until the suspect was transported to Ben Taub Hospital. Per practice, the officer will be placed on administrative duty pending an investigation. The Houston Police Department is actively investigating this incident. PPD Case # 22-011257
