I've always been a fan. I was in band during jr high. But I lost interest when I got to high school. Girls took over my interests ðŸ¤£

I'm a fan of the band sound, it's exciting.
My granddaughter was in the marching band at Dawson a few years ago.

Our granddaughter & grandson are both in the Pearland marching band & we are so very proud & happy for them & the rest of the band on their fantastic journey to the nationals. If you have never seen them perform At the Rig or anywhere else, you are really missing a great show. They are SUPER....

Yes that was Bands of America National competition, which I don't think Pearland has ever qualified to go to before. They did go to state also. I looked it up, and they finished 9th for the UIL State competition. Not sure, but I think that is Pearland's highest state finish too. Congrats to them! My kid was in band from 2014 - 18 and they did good, but not that good.

Maybe it was district Champs I'm thinking of but could have sworn they won state a few times. I remember when my generation made it to high school, the band is what carried the school pride. Because our football team sucked in the late 70s. Early 70s the football team was #1

@Michael1960 : Oh cool! You could be right. I was just going off what they told my kid. One of those years she was in band (2014 -18) they finished in the teens at state...like 17 or maybe it was 12??? I can't remember. But they were told that is the highest we had ever placed. And this year they placed 9th! So I thought that was the record. But maybe they were just saying it was the highest they placed during their years, or under that band director. IDK
