Yes, it is true....summer has come to an end and school starts on Monday, August 21st for Pearland ISD. On Wednesday, August 16th, Pearland Superintendent Dr. Kelly addressed over 1,300 teachers at the 2017-18 Convocation. Teachers were welcomed in by the PHS marching band, cheerleaders, and Prancers. What followed were motivational speeches, PISD facts and distinctions (which there are many!) and just some cheering, good laughs and fun! Even the district's principals (and Dr. Kelly) got in on the fun ! **See Pearland ISD Carpool Karaoke!!There is a considerable amount of construction on Old Alvin which will directly affect Pearland Junior High East, Pearland Junior High West, PACE and Sablatura Middle School. Also keep in mind, St. Helen Catholic School will also have similar hours to PISD schools, and they are located on Old Alvin as well.Please remember any streets near or around any school campus will be crowded - really crowded - especially this first week. Parents, picking up children, please pack your patience! Remember all of the delay is because teachers and administrators want to make sure every child gets to and from school safely! Finally, don't forget to pay attention to School Zones, directions on no turns, and NO cell phone usage in a school zone!
