When I was in junior high, I spent many days in the office talking about why I could not wear jeans to school. It took 3 years, but it was allowed. Some people, not me, also went to the office every morning to have skirts measured to make sure they were not too short. I feel like all the things I worked so hard for have been taken away. I can understand the no athletic shorts, for boys OR girls, but regular, even uniform type shorts should be allowed.

@All shorts are OK: If parents would still teacher their sons and daughters how to sit properly in any clothing I'd be all for shorts. You can't go anywhere anymore without seeing girls and boys with shorts on with their legs spread wide open. Both are showing underwear and body parts that they shouldn't be.
Girls were required to wear dresses or skirts until I was a sophomore in high school (yes - I'll be a senior citizen in a couple of months). I was so glad that we were required wear dresses to school. I graduated and went straight to a great job and didn't have to purchase any new clothes or shoes.
