Pearland Officers kicked off Wednesday evening with a bang (actually, several of them) when a man who had been threatening his estranged wife took police on a 90MPH jaunt down Bailey Rd, fired shots at her home, drove through her yard, wrecked his vehicle and hid in a nearby business.
According to reports from PPD, on Thursday, October 18, 2017, just after 4PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 16600 block of Herridge Rd in Pearland to answer a disturbance call. The complainant advised that her estranged husband, Mark Anthony Parker Jr. (36, Pearland), had shown back up at her residence. She also stated that he had been making threats towards her via text messages and she feared for her safety.
Since he was not there at the time, a description of Mr Parker's vehicle, a white Chevrolet pickup, was obtained and a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued.
While en route to the scene, PPD Officer Finch saw Mr. Parker driving his vehicle westbound on Bailey Rd. He, along with Officer Giron, attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the pickup at Bailey Rd and Kennedy Dr.
However, Mr. Parker refused to stop and drove at a slow speed through the neighborhood before returning back to Bailey Rd...where he turned eastbound. He accelerated down Bailey Rd, running through the stop sign at Cullen Pkwy, and even reached speeds of 90 MPH.
Mr. Parker eventually turned onto Herridge Rd and pulled into the driveway of Mrs. Parker's residence. He then fired several shots at the house from the vehicle. PPD Officer Neal was near the home and returned fire. No one was injured by any of the gunfire.
Mr. Parker then drove through the property and back yard fence where he wrecked the pickup at Joseph's Nursery just west of the property. Mr. Parker then fled on foot into the nursery but was quickly apprehended.
Parker is currently in the
