PISD Changes Educational Support Center Name
[via pearlandisd.org]Beloved Pearland ISD trustee Virgil Gant was honored by district officials on June 13th with the naming of the Education Support Center to the Virgil Gant Education Support Center. Gant was tragically killed in an automobile accident nearly a year ago.Gant served on the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees for a total of 16 years-- 1997-2006 and 2009-16. He held many leadership roles, including board president and as a member of the Long-Range Planning Steering Committee.Pearland ISD Superintendent Dr. John Kelly presented a personalized proclamation from U.S. Congressman Pete Olson to the Gant family along with a portrait of the 2016-17 school board in which they were gathered around his portrait.
