I would like to be in the kitchen with my sitter when I was a young child - Mrs. Artiaga - she would let me cook traditional Mexican dishes with her

Yes to visit but I would miss my modem appliances. How did we survive without a microwave? When I was a kid though they were not invented yet so I remember having to heat everything up on the stove top or having to turn on the big oven and heat up the kitchen in the summer. Also had no A/C in our house but then again I grew up in Wisconsin so it was not that bad.

@NannyB : It must be nice to have had a grandma's kitchen.
My grandmother passed away when I was young. I can imagine cookies
and bread baking filling the house with heavenly aromas.

@NannyB :
I had one set of grandparents that I only saw a handful of times. However, I grew up living next door to my other grandparents. I remember helping my grandmother bake pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year.

I took my wife to meet my grandmother many years ago, and my grandmother insisted she cook breakfast for us despite being in her mid 80s. I can still smell the cornbread, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. I think that's why breakfast is my favorite meal to cook.

@NannyB: Oh my goodness yes!! That house was right on Brookside Rd. My aunt bought it from my grandparents so I got to enjoy it longer!! It has since been torn down.

@NannyB: I didn't know any of my grandparents. I have been blessed to have all my grandsons close while they were growing up. I hope they will remember and cherish the times we spent together.

I never got to see either of my gmom's kitchens, the curse of being born late to parents who were born late. Still, I have heard enough stories to think one in particular would have been a very fun place to hang out.
