The Pearland Police Department took delivery of a new mobile command post (MCP) to help coordinate emergency responses at major public safety incidents and community outreach events.
The new 38-foot mobile command post was custom made by Farber Specialty Vehicles specifically for the City of Pearland. The command post will be equipped with state-of-the-art communications and public safety response equipment.
Funding for the mobile command post was provided by federal and state seizure funds, the Public Educational and Government Access Fund, and a sizable donation from the Pearland Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. These revenue sources allowed for less than 2% of taxpayer dollars to be used toward the mobile command post.
The mobile command post will provide critical communications, planning and coordination for major events such as criminal investigations, severe weather incidents, community outreach events, and other emergencies requiring coordination of significant public safety assets. With the addition of the new mobile command post, it is the hope of the City of Pearland to stand ready to respond to any potential public safety needs that may arise.
