Teacher Arrested For Improper Relationship With Student

Today, November 15, 2019, a former Pearland High School teacher, Kristen Motley, was arrested for Improper Relationship Educator/Student and Sexual Assault of a Child.

According to police reports, on November 8, 2019, the Pearland ISD Administration reported suspicions of an improper relationship between a student and Kristen Motley to the Pearland Police Department. Through their investigation, the Pearland Police Department located evidence confirming Kristen Motley was having a sexual relationship with a male juvenile student.

Two felony warrants were issued for Kristen Motley, and she was arrested and charged with these offenses.

The investigation is still ongoing.

@Stealth83 : I must have been naive. I don't remember this happening when I was in jr. high or high school. Some boys might have tried to brag that they did sleep with a teacher, but we never believed they actually did it.

Even today, it is much more likely to be a male teacher or coach who pushes a girl to have sex than a boy with a female teacher, I think.

@PearlandDotCom : This breaks my heart because Kristin is a great girl and has a great family. Just a really bad choice. On the other hand, inappropriate relationships between teachers and students is NOT new at PHS. I'm glad to see that administration and police finally did something about it. Just sad they have to wait til there is evidence of a sexual relationship before they stop it. I've got a child whose life will be affected forever (and several others) and has to live the rest of their life thinking it was okay to be preyed upon by a teacher. It's NOT okay. PHS and PPD need to be more proactive and shut this stuff down BEFORE lives are ruined.

@Stealth83 : So if the teacher's little friend had been female it would have been all right? You say you seduced your teacher, yet if it had gone public it is the teacher who would have been punished.
I know a priest who was in the same boat. Accused of a single consensual relationship with a high school boy. How do you defend yourself against a charge of something that happened 20 years earlier? There is no due process, and with a bloodthirsty press that hates Christianity and Catholics especially, there can't even be an even-handed investigation.

@PearlandDotCom : Y'all left out the part where she was also providing students with vapes and juuls. We were told that's why she was let go, and told not to listen to the rumors that she was having an affair. Well, I guess it's both. ðŸ¤·ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸

@PHS1954 : Not at all. I have experienced it much more with male teachers (in Chicago, they often transferred them to other schools from the one where I worked). Of course, they did not prosecute the older men because those men often paid off the very low income families. The one who did get prosecuted was actually a 18 or 19 year old security guard (male) who had a relationship with a 16 year old student (female). There are more females in the news today, but that was certainly not the case when I was in school or teaching.
