Upcoming Natatorium Closurepearlandparksandrec. perfectmind.com/Emai l/EmailCommunication /ViewEmailPage?The pool plaster in the Activity Pool at the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium has surpassed its useful life expectancy and needs replacement. To ensure we are providing safe and quality facilities, the Activity Pool plaster is scheduled to be replaced beginning January 11th, 2022 through February 2nd, 2022. During a portion of this time, the entire Natatorium will be closed out of an abundance of caution for our patrons due to the poor air quality during the stripping process of the old plaster.Beginning on January 21st, the Competition Pool will reopen to the public. The Competition Pool will be closed on January 22nd but will reopen with normal operating hours on January 23rd. The Activity Pool will remain closed until the project is completed. Replacing the plaster on the activity pool allows for year-round programs to continue such as water aerobics, swim lessons, mermaid university and other activities. The new plaster will create a smoother, more comfortable feel for patrons' feet while utilizing the Activity Pool.The Recreation Center will remain open during this time. During the Activity Pool closure (January 11th through February 2nd) the Water Fitness Classes will be replaced with Sit & Be Fit and Senior Aerobics Classes as indicated in the Group Exercise Schedule.
