Did y'all see Diane Sawyer's special report? They removed ALL items from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the USA .

... There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. During the special they showed truckloads of items - USA made - being brought in to replace everything and talked about how to find these items and the difference in price etc..

It was interesting that Diane said if every American spent just $64 more than normal on USA made items this year, it would create something like
200,000 new jobs!

IF BUYING FOOD at WALMART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA '

FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA '

I WAS SHOCKED SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? The Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets.

70% of Americans,.. believe that the
trading privileges afforded to the Chinese
should be suspended.

Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? You Caanother websiteO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA !!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans each refuse to buy just $20 of Chinese goods, that's a four billion dollar ($4,000,000,000) trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on
Sept.1st and continue it until Oct. 1st
That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, Sept.1st to Oct.1st. !
START NOW.

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives,
WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!"

Pass it on, America ...
Well, come to think of it, instead of doing it for just 1 month why not try to do it all the time. Paste and share!
Copied from a friend passing it on🇺🇸

I have seen it. I have also picked up a can of pineapple from Albania? That does not grow there, does it? Remember
big thing last year was live chickens shipped to China for processing, and being returned frozen. Much of the fruit juice, frozen or jars, is from China. China just about wiped out the production of fabric in this country. After most of the mills in the US were closed, the "quality" of what China produced went way down. Furniture? First went to China, now Vietnam. Tell City furniture was in Indiana, they had to close. When Van Heusen shirts went to China, the shirt factory in the town I lived in closed. I was the biggest employer in town to work. Everyone knew someone who worked there. These are direct examples I know of, there are many many others. I don't know if the figures given in this special are accurate. It would take a huge amount of money to get factories and businesses up and running again. I also wonder how many people would really be willing to pay the prices.

@Stealth83 : I think the point is really trying to stop People buying things made in China. This has been a thing for years but I do try to check labels myself. It's especially hard when it comes to buying toys for the grandkids, it's shocking how many toys are made in China.

This may be a nine year old report, but the story and the problems continue.

So, is that $64 overall, or $64 on every single item. Like every light, every sink, ever faucet? That could add up.

I like the ideals behind this thinking unfortunately there are many issues especially now in the macroeconomic landscape that the 9 year old special doesn't account for. 200k jobs is a little less than 1/3rd of the 08 crisis so back then it would have helped a lot today not so much as we lost 1.1 million jobs last week and over 40 million this year so 200k would help but not very much. here is a fun graph for comparison.

The problem of us citizens purchasing power and the cost of labor here derives from triffin's dilemma. Basically the U.S. goverment has both a responsibility to both us citizens and the rest of the world as long as the dollar remains the world reserve currency. This over time makes us import heavy and moves jobs out of the USA due to the cost of production vs cost in other countries be it china or otherwise.

Id like for us to bring jobs home and for our economy to outgrow the current debt situation that is becoming more and more out of control each day that passes . For that to happen this dilemma will need to be solved and we need a solution to put back 50 or 60 million jobs.

@Stealth83 : I really personally don't care if it's 9 days or 9 years , it's a good point. I don't and will never support China, some things might slip by, but I really starting checking on things I buy years ago. I know I'm just one person, but it has to start somewhere with some one! And I for one will pay more for American made.
